WHY 3.0?

Way back in the year 2000, before blogging really took off, I started sending a semi-daily e-mail~newsletter to my friends, filled with nothing but random thoughts.  I called it ‘Doug’s Brain’, but one of those friends had the foresight to transfer us all over to a Yahoo! group and “Boilerplate,” the Victorian Metal Man, was our mascot.  Then, in 2004, Boilerplate 2.0 was born as a LiveJournal account.  It petered on and off for about five years.  Now, welcome to version 3.0
